What is Electrostatic Spraying and Disinfection?
Electrostatic Sprayers provide a revolutionary spraying technology that can be used for decontamination of interior and exterior areas. Using an electrically charged spray creates a force 75 times greater than gravity and will provide 360 degree coverage of all objects in a room. This allows de-contaminant to reach the backside and undersides of a contaminated object with the positively charged particles that aggressively adhere to surfaces and objects by wrapping around them, which means less de-contaminant is needed to decontaminate structures and equipment.
We utilize an innovative Electrostatic Spraying/Sanitizing System that kills 99.9% of bacteria, germs, and viruses.
What is the difference between a mister or fogger and electrostatic spraying?
The electrostatic charge of the sprayer allows the droplets to attract to the surface rather than float in the air, as is typically associated with a mister or fogger. Misters and foggers are associated with worker exposure and respiratory concerns. The manufacturer of the product we use has conducted OSHA and NIOSH third party testing ensuring that there are no safety concerns for acute or long term worker exposure. It was established that exposure levels of the spraying solution when sprayed fall below established Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL).
What is in the product you use, what chemicals are in it?
We use a hospital grade, effervescent tablet that dissolves in water. The chemistry of the products are based around NaDCC, an organic chlorine donor which releases Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) and Monosodiumcyanurate (NaOCl) when dissolved in water.
They kill 99.9% of bacteria, germs, and viruses in 4 minutes and are formulated for final disinfection with touchless electrostatic application. The product is in compliance with OSHA and NIOSH.
Are there any OSHA or NIOSH exposure concerns for workers or when using the sprayer in a public setting (i.e. spraying around people or animals)?
No. The manufacturer conducted independent third party testing with American Environmental Consultants, Inc. to conduct personal air sampling. These were performed by a trained industrial hygienist using OSHA and NIOSH sampling techniques. All results verified that spraying the solution fall below published accepted Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL) and Threshold Limit Value (TLV).
Does the disinfecting product have a smell?
Yes. The solution has a slight chlorine smell that dissipates quickly after application leaving what most end users describe as a “clean” or “sterile” smell.
Does spraying leave “bubble marks, or streaking” on plastic and stainless steel?
At a 4306 ppm concentration (4 minute C.diff claim), it may leave some residue, which would need to be wiped once dry. With all other concentrations, residue will not be left on plastic or stainless steel. Over saturation or hard water deposits may also cause streaking.
Is it safe to use the electrostatic spraying system around desktops, keyboards, laptops, monitors and phones?
Yes. The solution can be used around standard office equipment such as laptops, desktops, keyboards and monitors but should not be applied directly to any sensitive electronics. Before applying, reference the equipment manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and disinfecting.
Will the electrostatic spraying around fabrics stain them?
Unlike bleach, the solution does not discolor fabrics. However, it should not be used on non-colorfast fabrics, wool or silk fabrics, or any fabric with a special finish.
How long does it take to dry?
5 minutes.
Do your employees wear protective gear?
Although the disinfectant solution is earth-safe and free of harsh chemicals; and it is not required that we wear protective gear to apply this solution, we are using gloves, eye protection and face mask to protect our employees from possible contamination in businesses we are working in.
A protective suit is only required where COVID-19 cases are confirmed in the facility.
When do you do the electrostatic spraying?
We prefer to work when there are no employees or staff in the facility, so as to be able to work efficiently and effectively. But we will work with your schedule.
How many times should we disinfect our facility?
Depending on the nature of your business, you may want to disinfect daily or at a minimum of once per week. If your company is shut down, you may want to consider spraying two times prior to having employees come back to work and re-opening your facility.
